Everything you need to know about Sadie’s- A Jam in the Gym

Carson Powell, Co-Editor in Chief

Winter Blast Week brings us so many exciting activities: The Amazing Race, Medallion Hunt, spirit days, etc. Arguably the most exciting, however, is the Sadie Hawkins dance. After last year’s success, the dance is back again, although a little different than years past.

For those of you that don’t know, the Sadie Hawkins dance is an informal dance at Eagan. Traditionally, at Sadie’s dances “girls ask guys,” however, this stigma couldn’t be farther from the truth at EHS. So, go with your friends, go with a date, or go by yourself. No matter which you choose, you’ll have a great time.

The dance is on Friday, February 22 (yes that’s next Friday) at 9 p.m. and goes until 11:30 p.m. It is directly after the boys varsity basketball game, which is at 7 p.m. The boys are playing the Farmington Tigers and the game will be free for students to attend. A ticket to the dance will cost $5. Following the basketball game, students will clear the gymnasium, wait for the DJ to set up, and head back in for a super fun night. You do not need to go to the game to attend the dance.

The theme for Sadie’s this year is simple: Match with your group! Whatever theme you and your friends decide on is great. Some popular themes are jersey, beach out, 80’s/neon, and so many more.

In addition, since Winter Blast is next week, now is the time to prepare for spirit days! Here are the dates and themes.
