Film Discussion Club

December 4, 2017

So far this year, we have seen several new clubs added to Eagan High School. One of these is the Film Discussion Club. It was started by Netanya Sadoff and Clarice Rhehult.  “We decided to start it because we are both very passionate about films, and we wanted to share that passion especially with younger people who are too young to take the actual class,” says Netanya Sadoff.

So far, Film Discussion club has started off as a success.  “We got like twenty-five members, which was really exciting because I was only expecting about ten.” says Netanya.  Each week, Film Discussion Club meets in Lecture room A or B to talk about which films they want to watch, based on aspects like cinematography.  After they pick a movie, they show clips from it that highlight aspects from it.

Due to its success, the club has many hopes for its future.  “We’re hoping to do a collaboration with Anime Club,”  says Netanya Sadoff.  “We wanted to watch an anime film with them, which we could all discuss as a group.”

They are also aspiring to have special theme days throughout the year . “For example,” says Netanya Sadoff  “we were hoping to watch Christmas movies and have Christmas Days now that Christmas is coming up, and we could do the same for other holidays.”
