On October 30th, students in Eagan’s Interact Club participated in the Halloween Hodgepodge, an annual carnival hosted by the city of Eagan.

Interact volunteers were responsible for collecting canned goods for the Open Door food shelf. “The result has been pretty positive every year,” explains Mr. Wirsbinski, Interact Club advisor and Eagan math teacher.

The Halloween Hodgepodge takes place every year at the Eagan Community Center. The ticketed event featured carnival games, trick-or-treating, concession stands, and more. Local businesses and community organizations participated in the carnival by adopting a game station. Attendees were encouraged to wear costumes in the spirit of Halloween. This is the fifth year that Interact Club has participated in the event.

Interact Club is a student-run organization that focuses on service projects. “Interact club gives me a lot of opportunities to volunteer and I’m able to give back to the community,” junior Aishu Mankala, an Interact Club member, describes.

The club is open to anyone who wants to join. There are several volunteer opportunities in the next month posted on the Interact Club’s web page for those interested in volunteering. For more information, visit the website or contact Mr. Wirsbinski or Mr. Loeffler.
