This week we are pleased to announce sophomore Joe Kelly, as Artist of the Month. Joe is a singer, songwriter, and musician. He began playing the guitar 5 years ago, when his mother signed him up for lessons. After learning the basics, Joe began teaching himself more advanced skills and exploring different styles of music. He began performing in 8th grade when a friend convinced him to take part in the middle school talent show in front of hundreds of people. That event set his career into swing. He currently performs at Classic Saigon, a Vietnamese restaurant in Eagan, and other open-mic events around the Twin Cities.

Joe performs a variety of different styles of music, both vocally and on the guitar. Some of these styles include pop, rock, folk, jazz, and even rap. He has written a total of 40 songs of his own. “I’ve always loved the guitar, even as a kid. Whenever I hear guitar in a song, it makes me like the song a lot better. It just adds something that I love,” he said.

Joe Kelly does plan on performing in this year’s Eagan’s Got Talent. So check him out!
