On Thursday, February 19th, EHS hosted its second amazing race.

The activity was based on the TV series The Amazing Race. Teams of six had to compete in specific activities in five minutes or less. Each event was spread anywhere in throughout the school, whether that be in conference rooms, hallways, or stairwells. All members of a team needed to be present during the activity. This year there were sixteen different activities. Teachers volunteer to help coordinate the activity and they could either come up with their own idea or use an activity provided by LINK.

Forty teams participated this year, and Los Chicos emerged victorious. The Amazing Race helps students engage in good teamwork, and just have fun.

“Not every person has to actively engage in each event so someone on the team might be really good at one event, while another teammate is better at a different event.” says Ms. Catchpool, one of the LINK crew organizers.

The Amazing Race was just one of the events in the Winter Blast Week. Other events included a medallion hunt, a volleyball tournament, spirit week, and finally a pepfest.

LINK has decided to continue this activity next year since it was a huge success.
