Amid rumors of school closings and e-learning possibilities, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has announced that Minnesota public schools will close starting Wednesday, March 18th. Super Intendent of District 196 Mary Kreger followed up with a call informing everyone that school will be canceled the entire week. The buildings will still be open Monday, March 16th from 7 am to 6 pm for students to pick up any necessary items or bags of food. Spring break will continue as planned, and the five days prior will use the pool of five snow days. Whether school will continue following spring break or e-learning will begin is still unknown, but we will keep you updated. Remember to avoid touching your face, wash your hands, and most importantly stay safe!

Update: Governor Tim Walz announced on Thursday, April 23rd that schools will now be closed and e-learning will continue for the rest of the school year. School will be canceled on May 1st and 4th to be set aside for teacher development days.
