The movie Back to the Future predicts a 2015 World Series win for the Chicago Cubs. While it didn’t actually happen, the prediction was only a year off. After the Chicago Cubs beat the Cleveland Indians in the seventh World Series game on November 2nd, Michael J. Fox, known for his role as Marty Mcfly, tweeted “Only off by a year, not bad. Congrats @Cubs. This is so heavy. #FlyTheW.”

In order to win the World Series, two teams face off in a best-of-seven playoff. Home field advantage is given to the team that belongs to the winning league of All-Star Game, which is held in mid-July between the American League and the National League.

The Cleveland Indians won the first two games, followed by three wins from the Cubs, and another win for the Indians. The final game was a nail-biter, going into an extra inning and involving a rain delay. Ben Leiran, a junior who watched the game, confides, “The final game was very interesting because I thought that the Indians were going to come back, but the Cubs really closed it out.”

All in all, it was a huge victory for the Chicago Cubs and their fans. The team won their first World Series since 1908, a whopping 108 years ago.
