Over $1000 Donated to Pennies for Patients

The past several weeks, Eagan high school Paws classes have been collecting pennies to support “Pennies For Patients”.

Pennies for patients has been around since 1994 and is a fundraiser to raise money for the “Leukemia and Lymphoma society.” The organization has raised millions of dollars in pennies and other spare change. It is collected through about 10 million elementary, middle and high schools all across the nation.

At Eagan High School, pennies for patients was run by the National Honors Society. This is the first time in a few years that Eagan has done pennies for patients, because in previous years the participation level had been low. In previous years Eagan has done pennies for patients they have collected dollar amounts that were in the hundreds. This year dollar amounts exceeded $1000.

Pennies for patients is a great way to ditch your spare change and help a great cause.
